Pulse is a shawl in an unusual shape, but it is very wearable. A shawl for every day! Using real Shetland Wool it is light and warm. Perfect.
You start knitting in a triangular shape, increasing and going up. Then the shaping begins with decreasing and increasing. Finally decreasing and going up. So the shawl is done in 1 go, no grafting needed.
You can wear the shawl with the point in front or in the back and wrap the rest around the shoulders. Or, a bit more practical, fold it lenghtwise and wrap it around your neck to keep toasty.
IMPORTANT: i've dyed the yarn myself, These colours are NOT available in the Jamieson & Smith store in these shades. You can choose a different brand in the same range that does have more colour options. Preferably wool / a light and airy laceweight yarn.
Yarn: 2ply “Supreme” by Jamieson and Smith 9.6 balls / 240gr = 1920m (2100y),
AND 1ply “No 1” by Garthenor (350m / 50gr) 1.4 skeins / 70gr = 490m (536y), (1 50gr skein and 1 25gr skein)
Needle: 2,5mm needles (if you prefer: a 32” circular)
Notions: a tapestry needle to weave in yarn ends, suitable detergent, towel, T pins + block kit, 35 stitch markers.
NOTE: When you want to use fingering weight yarn, take up a 3mm / US2.5 needle, do less sets and end up with an extra warm and generous shawl!
