A shawl with nice lace patterns. A wonderful chance to practice your lace knitting skills. The swatch I made was in a light brown colour and it reminded me of my walk on Muckle Roe. It’s a small island that is part of the Shetland Isles. The rocks have a different colour than the surrounding landscape: Red. Muckle Roe is named after its rocks: Muckle Roe is Big Red Island in a mix of Scottish and Old Norse. Only in 1902 a bridge to the main island was build and population increased. Now, there are appox. 130 people living on the island and you can walk for hours without meeting any one of them.
The shawl is green, also a colour you can find on Muckle Roe; the grass for sheep and bunnies is all around.
Rectangle, body is knit first, then the edge is added. You can choose size by adding or omitting repeats. For instance, whey you decide to use a thicker yarn.
